All laboratory courses has been appointed specific waste bins.

During your laboratory exercises, you are
asked to dispose of waste in nominated waste bins, e.g.:
Waste Group B. Halogen and sulphur-containing organic waste, e.g., tetrachloromethane, chloroform, methylene chloride, dimethyl sulfoxide.
Waste Group C. Flammable organic waste (Without halogen and sulphur), e.g., acetone, alcohols, ether, toluene, ethyl acetate, butanol. Water content <50%.
Waste Group H. Organic waste WITHOUT halogen and sulphur, e.g., formaldehyde, organic acids, phenol, diluted alcohols. Water content> 50%
In each waste bin, only waste solvents or mixtures of the same type as indicated above and on the waste bin can be disposed of. In case of doubt: ask the instructors.
A general rule is nothing from the laboratories is to be discarded down the drain without consulting an instructor.
