Certain types of chemical waste must, according to the Ministry of Environment and Energy's Executive Order, "Order On Waste", be delivered to the municipal disposal sites in specific fractions.
All laboratory courses has been appointed specific waste bins.

During your laboratory exercises, you are asked to dispose of waste in nominated waste bins, e.g.:
Waste Group B. Halogen and sulphur-containing organic waste, e.g., tetrachloromethane, chloroform, methylene chloride, dimethyl sulfoxide.
Waste Group C. Flammable organic waste (Without halogen and sulphur), e.g., acetone, alcohols, ether, toluene, ethyl acetate, butanol. Water content <50%.
Waste Group H. Organic waste WITHOUT halogen and sulphur, e.g., formaldehyde, organic acids, phenol, diluted alcohols. Water content> 50%
In each waste bin, only waste solvents or mixtures of the same type as indicated above and on the waste bin can be disposed of. In case of doubt: ask the instructors.
A general rule is nothing from the laboratories is to be discarded down the drain without consulting an instructor.
It is illegal to diluted waste unnessacly.
