Finding Accommodation in Denmark

Before arriving in Denmark, you should arrange accommodation. Be aware that renting a room in any of our campus cities will often cost between 3000 - 4500 DKK per month. Find your campus below to know what types of accommodation are available to you.

Please note that University College Absalon does not offer accommodation.

Are you coming to Denmark for a traineeship?
University College Absalon does not provide accommodation for trainees. However, our international coordinators are often able to help trainees look for and find accommodation, so ask about this in your contact with the coordinator.

Kalundborg

The Municipality of Kalundborg guarantees accommodation for students.

The settlement team are ready to assist and will make an extra effort to help students finding accommodation at the start of their semester.  
The Municipality of Kalundborg is offering a ‘roof-over-your-head guarantee’
This is a guarantee offered to  students who are moving to Kalundborg and entering further education and who have not been able to find permanent accommodation. 

This guarantee ensures you a ‘roof over your head’ at the start of the semester. In this way you can focus on a good start at studying in Kalundborg.

Find a roomie and share the expenses

It is often preferred by students to have good company both to share expenses and student life with. In this new facebook group from the Municipality of Kalundborg you can find other students in Kalundborg e.g. to find a roomate og new football friend. Feel free to join, if you are a student in Kalundborg.

Nykøbing Falster

  1. University College Absalon does not provide accommodation in Nykøbing Falster. Students can contact the local housing association, Domea, which has rental apartments in town.
  2. There is also a hostel, Danhostel Nykøbing Falster, which might be an option for your first few days in Denmark.

Næstved

There is a hostel, Danhostel Næstved, which might be an option for your first few days in Denmark.

Slagelse

  1. University College Absalon does not provide accommodation in Slagelse. However, there are residence halls close to campus. You can read more about these on www.fob.dk
  2. There is also a hostel, Danhostel Slagelse, which might be an option for your first few days in Denmark.
  3. University College Absalon has on-campus housing in Sorø, only 15 minutes from Slagelse by bus. Please contact the International Coordinator to know more about this option.

Roskilde

There is a hostel, Danhostel Roskilde, which might be an option for your first few days in Denmark.

Vordingborg

  1. University College Absalon has two residence halls right next to campus in Vordingborg. The accommodation has private rooms (non-furnished), shared bathrooms and kitchens. Please note that these residence halls have a long waiting list, so you should apply as soon as possible.
    If you are accepted to study in Vordingborg as an exchange student, we will try our best to find available accommodation for you, however, we also recommend that students search for accommodation on their own.
    If you are a full degree student (International Teacher Education), please contact kollegieleje@pha.dk to sign up for accommodation.
  2. Students can contact one of the local housing associations, which have rental apartments in town.
  3. There is also a hostel, Danhostel Vordingborg, which might be an option for your first few days in Denmark.
